One of the most commonly asked questions that I run into while playing Runescape is people asking me if I found 95 prayer worth the 150M it cost me. I always reply with the exact same answer every time. YES! I have never for one second regretted spending most of my bank for the ability to use the ancient curse, Turmoil. Before we talk about why turmoil is worth the money, lets first talk about what it does. With turmoil activated, the players Attack and Defense is increased by 15%, plus 15% of the enemy’s level, and strength by 23%, plus 10% of the enemy’s level. If you thought piety was good, you will be amazed.
With the cost of 95 prayer being well over 150M, you definitely want to make sure it’s the right choice for you. This comes down to several factors, the first being where you spend the majority of your time on Runescape. If you like to PK, turmoil is a must. After spending the 150M on turmoil, I managed to make that same amount back plus even more in a period of only a month. This was definitely worth it for me. If you prefer activities such as questing or training combat/slayer, turmoil is still going to be worth the money. Using turmoil on slayer tasks makes things much more efficient as you move at almost twice the rate. When training combat with turmoil, you can easily get 125k exp per hour (compared to 75k without turmoil). Turmoil is very useful in every combat related activity in Runescape.
What might stop you from getting 95 prayer? Well, obviously we need to consider the cost. 150M is a lot of money and should never be taken lightly. If you make less than 1M (1,000,000) gp an hour, turmoil may not be for you. You really don’t want to spend more than 150 hours making back the money that you spent on leveling your prayer. If you can make over 1M gp an hour though, turmoil is definitely an option for you. God Wars Dungeon, runecrafting, and merchanting are all great ways to make over 1M an hour if that’s where your running into some trouble.
