Matt then started singing one of his songs: ‘You between my arms, bare foot on the grass. Don’t get me singing. Listening to my favourite song. What’s it called? Perfect? I love it.’

The politician left fans ‘cringing’ and wishing they could ‘unsee’ the clip as they quickly took to Twitter to express their feelings with a number of memes.

One asked: ‘Did I really just have to listen to Matt Hancock sing Ed Sheeran?’.

While others said: ‘I can’t listen to Ed Sheeran anymore, thanks’.

The moment comes after Seann couldn’t contain his laughter after realising his campmate the former Health Secretary.

The comedian, 36, quickly took to the famous Bush Telegraph during the hit ITV show to share his shock of who his new co-stars is.

    Laughing, he said: ‘Matt Han…. [laughs]…. I can’t… Matt Han… [laughs]’

He also warned Matt that he didn’t think the other campmates would be a big fan of his when they joined them later.

The two men were later seen attempting to make a fire in the Australian camp as the pair discussed their career paths.

Seann said: ‘I’ve always wanted to perform, that’s what I’ve loved since I was about 10 and I watched Ace Ventura for the first time and that was it.

‘Boring question, but to want made you want to be a politician, who wants to get into politics?’

The former Health Secretary replied: ‘I wasn’t sort of a political anorak if you like, but I had a very specific reason that drew me there, which is that my folks ran a small business and in the early nineties it nearly went bust for reasons completely outside our control.

‘That made me ask how the whole system works. So I went and studied economics and then went to the Bank of England and there I realised that all the big decisions are taken in Westminster.

‘I went and became George Osborne and David Cameron’s economic advisor. Then I decided I wanted to run myself.’

Seann went on to quiz Matt on whether he ever ran for Prime Minister, in which he said: I did briefly try that as well. When Boris became Prime Minister, yeah…’
