Bruce Willis appeared happy and comfortable as he was seen on a walk through a nature area on Wednesday, a week after the actor’s family announced he was ‘stepping away from’ his career in show business after he was ‘diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.’

In a clip posted by his wife Emma Heming Willis, 43, to the tune of the Rolling Stones‘ Honky Tonk Women, the acting veteran, 67, was seen walking through a woodsy area on a clear spring day.

She also shared a series of photos from the outdoors outing in which she and her husband sat on a log, with the caption, ‘Mom & dad in their favorite habitat.’

The latest: Bruce Willis, 67, appeared happy and comfortable as he was seen in a nature area with wife Emma Heming Willis, 43, on Wednesday, a week after the actor’s family announced he was ‘stepping away from’ his career in show business after he was diagnosed with aphasia

The Die Hard actor donned an orange vest over a button-up dark green top with gray jeans and boots. Willis was seen smiling at his wife, who was clad in a dark jacket over a purple top with blue jeans and brown boots.

She had her hair down and parted in the image, which she captioned ‘Mom and Dad’ with the photo taken by their daughter Mabel Ray, 10, who was also seen in the clip.

The clip also featured shots of the picturesque woodsy area the family was spending the day at, as it was flanked by mountains and included rocks, trees and a lake.

Willis’ family, including his wife Emma, ex-wife Demi Moore, 59, and five daughters Rumer, 33, Scout, 30, Tallulah, 28, Mabel Ray and Evelyn, seven, issued a joint statement via Instagram last week saying that the Hollywood icon ‘has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.

‘As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support.

They continued: ‘We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.’

A source told People on Wednesday that ‘everyone is focused on all the happy moments they are able to share’ with the actor, and that ‘Emma is especially grateful for the daughters she shares with Bruce.’

An insider close to the Pulp Fiction actor told the outlet that the actor’s family has been ‘doing whatever they can’ to help him, and ‘have rallied around him in a big way to help Bruce cope with what is to come.’

Their daughter Mabel Ray, 10, was also seen in the clip in the natural setting

A source close to Heming Willis said that she has been ‘trying to keep it together for him’ during the difficult time.

‘As someone facing health challenges, Bruce couldn’t be part of a better family. It’s been shocking. And it’s not easy seeing a spouse decline.’

The Mayo Clinic defines aphasia as ‘a condition that affects your ability to communicate’ that ‘can affect your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language.’

The actor’s family did not announce what caused his bout with aphasia, which has a number of potential causes. The condition could occur following a head injury or stroke, or can be a predecessor to a brain tumor or Alzheimer’s disease. Patients who are living with the condition are typically treated with speech therapy and taught ways to communicate non-verbally.

The actor's family took to Instagram last week to reveal he was stepping away from acting following his diagnosis with aphasia
